Singer / Songwriter Michael Johnston is originally from Troon, Scotland and is now based in Glasgow.

Michael currently plays in Waxy O'Connor's, Glasgow every Sunday and Thursday night and once a month in Molly Malone's with Damien Swail. He has appeared with Mock Turtlenecks, Ernest, Sarcassa, Planet Caravan and Maggie Devlin.

Michael and Jerzy Kolodziej, (Mock Turtlenecks), hosted the weekly open mic session Unplugged in Queen Margaret Union, University of Glasgow from 2000 to 2001.

Michael is keen on sound engineering and production and writes, records and produces all of his music himself.

He cites his favorite artists as including The Beatles, Barenaked Ladies, Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Rufus Wainwright, Dave Matthews Band, Fairport Convention, The Shins, Tommy Emmanuel, Radiohead, Tom McRae, Coldplay, Ben Folds Five, Pink Floyd and Jack Johnson but is a firm believer in listening to as broad a variety of music as humanly possible. And drinking Chai tea. And malt whisky.
